You do the restaurant thing like I do. You started driving before me (1987). I’m thinking NYC potholes, Armstrong steering, spring ride, pocket full of quarters. Get home at the end of the week, and recover and piss blood.
In those days, everyone did the restaurant thing. The phone booth thing. The phone card thing. Some of the truck stops had these big round tables and no booths. When you sat at a table, you’d sit with people you didn’t know.
I used to like to hear the girls on the CB naming off the daily lunch special at the restaurant. It’s amazing, used to go into a full service restaurant, eat and drink, tip the waitress for under $6.
I think I miss all the old restaurants most of all.Nostalgic, OLDSKOOLERnWV, Feedman and 14 others Thank this. -
If he had contracted legionaries from a shower. Do you not think the health department would have went to the truck stop to test for legionaries?Feedman, peterbilt_2005, cke and 4 others Thank this.

My bad... from the way you mentioned that it comes from a water source, I assumed you hadn't read it. Sorry.
As far as the health department jumping on it... It wouldn't surprise me at all if they aren't. While there are a few good people in every industry, mostly, people these days want to put in their time and go home. -
Ahh yes the van game. Hurry up and wait.
OLDSKOOLERnWV, Feedman, peterbilt_2005 and 7 others Thank this. -

I hate junk twin antenna setups. One antenna cable is boogered so I've tried to disconnect it and just run on the one antenna but my levels are still stupid high.
OLDSKOOLERnWV, Feedman, cke and 4 others Thank this. -
He bought it in CA for about 11k I think, got it to Savannah , he hadn’t told me the transmission took a dump.
Surely worth it to someone mechanical with a source of transmissions or wrecked trucks.
He literally doesn’t have the time to deal with it.
Then again - the one I have to take to him , 2014 with 400k miles - $23k. They’re out there pretty cheap.
I apologized - honestly didn’t mean to upset anyone.
