The trainer trucks are the same size as the solo trucks but have an extra bunk. Trainees typically run two weeks solo and two weeks as a team. Also, they just started using elogs (Peoplenet) but I honestly haven't seen any difference in the number of miles I'm able to run per week vs what I ran on paper logs. I just finnished this week with 3708 miles with hours to spare and I'm solo.

OK. Thanks. Do they have regional runs? Home on weekends type a thing? Would u know if I would go to Carlisle, PA for orientation? Any info would be appreciated. Equipment and otherwise. Thanks so much.
-
They no longer have regional fleets and will want you to stay out a minimum of 2 weeks. They tried regional and lost their rear-ends on it and have since shifted back to the longer haul stuff. I'm currently seeing more 800+ mile runs than anything else and 2000+ mile runs aren't uncommon either. Also, orientations are only held in Vandalia, OH and VanBuren, AR.

OK.thanks for the info. Not sure I'm willing to do or any more. Its hell on married life. Any word on CPM at USA? I see it going up across the board this year. Finally! These company's paying 36 or 38 CPM and want you to stay out for two weeks or more, will not attract quality drivers/trainers.
-
Im not sure what the current pay scale is or exactly what I make. I've been with USA for 6 years and make about 39 CPM but paid the same rate regardless of length of haul.

I'll call to find out. Thanks for all the info. Have a safe trip. Keep er between the mustard and the mayo.

Well looks like I'm stuck in Virginia for a while. Another driver decided I no longer need the front of my truck, so he took it with his tandems.

That looks like it smarted a little

Was it a truck stop dilemma? Looks like one of the old ragged out Prostars anyway.

Nah, were in the dock doors of a DC. In his defense it was a very tight spot. It was also 2 in the morning and we had both been in the doors over 8 hours. Felt a bit bad for him. He's a new driver that jumped into a lease with a company with both feet, and told me last night he's losing his hat. This certainly isn't gonna help that.

It is one of the Prostars we got before the freightliners. It's not new, but then again I really don't want a brand new truck. This one has ran the miles that's for sure. But it's startin to see its day. I picked it up abandoned last May in New York, and I've put quite a few miles on it since then.
