Ottumwa, IA. Staring at the back of a pork plant. Looks like another weekend hung out. I'm really starting to think about looking at other avenues besides reefer.

It's not the type of trailer, it's the company you're working for. Not all reefer carriers are the same. We simply don't do fresh meat plant loads. Been there done that. Never again.

I take that back. We do have maybe 2 trailers spotted at Tyson in Wallula, WA which does fresh beef. But I've only pulled out of there 1 time in 2 years here.

You're lucky. Tyson, Cargill, JBS are all the names of the game over here. Not to mention our own plant.

I used to work for a high-volume meat hauler but it was all drop/hook but still did not care too much those plants. Glad I moved on.

Yea I mean in my company's defense it's supposed to be all drop and hook. It just never works that way no matter how much I think "ok it's gotta be loaded by now." It's always "we haven't even put it in a door we'll call ya when it's ready." Which as you know, is a death sentence.

Parked. At a shipper waiting to get loaded in the morning in Lawrenceburg, TN to deliver in Saratoga Springs, NY

At first wasn't very happy about having to hamg out here overnight but there really isn't anyplace I could find with parking within less then 30 min away, but they closed at 6. It is quiet and peaceful and I am the only one here, way better then sitting in a loud parking lot after tbe last few days so I'm a happy camper.

Watch a little Netflix and catch up on Zzzzzs.

I came back and got in Monday afternoon and I'm off this week. Getting things finalized with the house and tying up loose ends around here in preparation to my move to KC.

After a drop on Monday in Las Vegas NV and one today in Phoenix AZ I'm sitting now at the receiver in San Diego CA, unloading tomorrow and then to my last drop near L.A.
Nice and quiet here and cool, last nights were so hot with 83+ in the morning and 104+ in the day.
But it's a dry heat
