The days of tearing off/chucking paper out the window are gone.

Jailbroken or not, if the audit (and it will be easier now) data request shows evidence of changes to ROD history. There will be some 'splaining to do...

These electronic devices always keep a "change log" in the background, which can be downloaded for further review.

Bought a "keep trucking" ELD unit a month ago. Tried to hook it all up last week. No go. Sent it back, supposed to get a replacement.

Good thing we got that 90 day extension...

The unit itself is free per se, but a yearly subscription to the service is $240

I don't think there's an extension for the eld. But something was mentioned about a 4 month delay for actual enforcement. Depending on the state.

Not all states would be ready to enforce. OR something along those lines.

    I know that LOL

I just wanted to learn more from the "lunch counter"

The DOT/Enforcement Officers will not start smacking violations like candy till April, 2018 for non-compliance.

The 4 month transition period is to ensure no one says "the ELD suppliers are out of stock"...More like a warning period for procrastinators....while the enforcers get to document all excuses known to man...

Not too hard to enforce-pull in trucks, no ELD-write tickets. Its just money grab for government.
