The device has only been out for a short time, how is it already the best? Newest, yes.. Hardly the best, though.

Real truckers don't use GPS, cell phones, power steering, windshield wipers, air conditioning, or any so called modern crap. Power steering can break down. Air conditioning hurts the engine and it just breaks anyway, then you have to fix it oh my god. Windshield wipers are for sissies, be a man and roll down the window and look out of that. Gosh these new truckers these days ain't nothing but dang gumb steering wheel holders. No wonder this industry is in such sad shape!! A GPS? Go to a phone booth and call and ask for directions like a real man does. These new drivers make me so sad....

Half the time the phone numbers have been changed and they've moved. About the only locations for a phone booth or pay phone is in a truck stop anymore

    Go figure

To be fair to all the GPS's downtown hasn't been mapped out right since BEFORE the dig, let alone after. Luckily that's a place I don't need one. But I've got a TND520 and thinking of upgrading myself. Works great, but a little slow. I'd also like real time traffic updates without having to tether my phones internet. The Garmin's have traffic for free and doesn't require internet to do it. I've had great luck with Garmin's in the past (car) but I'm a little iffy on leaving Rand mainly because in my head they've got to be the most reliable since their the ones making the Atlas.

I still have my map books. Learned the greater Boston area on a map. No gps at the time. What's your point there driver? I like air conditioning, I like power steering, I like air ride. Hell today's drivers will live longer and be more comfortable doing the job. Oh, I could ALWAYS go work at a trash company or ltl company driving some 30 years old death trap toilet old truckers truck. But since I'm running miles and doing my " apprenticeship ", #### right I want creature comforts.

My 720 took a crap and would no longer charge so I upgraded to the 730. The biggest difference is the speed, it calculates routes a whole lot faster. I have an old 510 in my car and it pisses me off at time because it takes so long to find a route.

You can also choose different themes, I just have it set on traditional. Oh, and the Show Highway view shows Tue highways or all legs not just the current one.

Functions the same and I was able to transfer my User data (address book, etc) from the 720 to the 730
