    Saia has driver facing cams.
Longtime LTL hand here and my choice would be OD

Yeah but my question is. What about the OT? Saia pays at 45hrs and OD at 60. Thats a big difference since i would be driving more than likely the be working 12 hr days.

What's the top pay at each and how many hours will you be working??? Do you have a family, what's the 401k match? How long will it be before you have a set run? What's the typical schedule?

There's a lot of questions you should have gotten answers to when you were interviewing.

I would go with OD. But, friends at SAIA are happy too.

OD top pay in the midwest
    .7088 mileage
    $31.53 hourly
Schedule run availability varies from terminal to terminal.
There is no typical schedule until you're on a bid.
Our 401k is a guaranteed match of 50% on the first 6%. We also get a discretionary payout every year which is more or less profit sharing. Depending on how much you contributed their additional contribution can be over $10,000.
I'm linehaul and love working for OD. I've never worked for SAIA so I can't speak to how things are with them but OD is a great place to work.

Current top scale pay for linehaul at Saia is .7050 cpm, my hourly rate is $28.29 an hour, but I believe this varies on location, hourly may be higher in locations with higher cost of living, 5 PTO days per year and you are front loaded a week of vacation after your 90 day probation, after that you accumulate vacation every January and start getting two weeks vacation after second year of service with them, then 3 weeks after 7 years I think, health insurance is free after 10 years of service, overtime is after 45 hours, I am not doing the 401k so I really don't have a answer on that one, medical insurance is $35.50 a week and dental $14.93 a week, Saia covers short term disability but you can get a long term policy as well that you pay for.

I don't or never have worked for either, but just from driving the same roads I can tell that OD is definitely a more professional company. I've never been stuck behind an OD truck running the left or center lane side by side another truck... definitely cannot say the same about Saia.

    RouteC and homeskillet Thank this.
