    ####in priuses are the worst man , glad ur okay tho and kept her right side up , because u know that tree huggin ####### wouldve piddled his fat butt down the road after u swerved and flipped her in the ditch, i tell ya i wouldnt mind seein some drivers gettin flattened like a soda can for some of the dumb #### they do

    I'd had such a bad day the day before with the whole tire issue on the side of the interstate I really didn't want another day of ########. The video would have cleared me 100% but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If I could do anything to avoid hitting him I will.

    Let's See. The last 48 hours or so.

    Dropped in Victorville, CA.

    My preplan was tight. Pet food from San Bernardino, CA to Hermiston, OR.

    No mention as to if it was dry or reefer.
    Unable to get a live person on the phone to see if the load will require reefer.

    So, I fuel the trailer, which ended up being a waste of time, as I later found the load to be non reefer.

    Looked at possible routes. All routes looked like crap. Covered with winter weather warnings. Ended up taking 15 to Las Vegas, then US 93 up to Wells, NV.

    Loading took far too long. Ended up doing a roadside 10 right outside the shipper, which also flipped my waking clock 12 hours. Lovely.

    Made it to Wells, NV the next morning. At the end of my day.

    Woke up and started checking weather conditions from Wells, NV up to Twin Falls, ID.

    Nope. Snowing hard and wet on mountain roads, with temperatures expected to fall well below freezing in the higher elevations. When it smells like chain weather, I park.

    Besides, I need to get back on my regular sleep schedule.

    Fart around with computer for a few hours then back to bed.

    Wake up the next morning. Forecasts look good. I roll. First 30 miles are not pretty, but once I Crest the mountains and start downhill to Twin Falls, there is a dramatic improvement in road conditions.

    Made delivery to Wal Mart, Hermiston, OR with 4 minutes on my 70. Tight.

    Spend 2 hours wrangling a empty out of the dirt lot. Lots of ice. Crap traction. Ended up getting a DOT bumper rope tow from a fellow to move my truck and trailer the first 2 feet out of the hole, then all was in order.

    PC to nearby Flying J. Parked for a 34.

    Started up this morning, drove to Pasco to grab a load. No issues. Until I tried to scale. 9688446 trucks all wanted on the scale at the same time apparently.

    Waited an hour to scale. When I left, I needed to adjust tandems. I drove straight across the road to the dirt lot, following another truck.

    I wish I had watched that truck a bit earlier. I know that lot. It is terrible with awful potholes, but it set a new record today.

    I got stuck in the enormous pothole 3 feet inside the entrance to the dirt lot.

    My ### end was half blocking the road. Barely not blocking the exit for trucks from the scale lane.

    Truck was not coming out without help. Right front drive was impacted under the trailer with 42k in the box. The Left side landing gear leg was impacted on the pavement. My left side fuel tank was within a finger width of being on the ground.

    Two guys with pickups came by and asked if I wanted them to pull me out for 100 bucks. They both left when I told them I had 42k in the box.

    The tow company dragged me out of the hole easily.

    Total wasted time 2.5 hours to get scaled and pulled out of a hole.

    New PTI. Thank God no obvious damage. Slid tandems. Reweighed. Rolled.

    30 miles later. DPF Regen needed light came on.

    Decided to try to run it out, since I had been idling a lot.

    Wreck on I84 stopped traffic 30 minutes.

    DPF started blinking a few miles from La Grand.

    Snow chains required 2 miles East of La Grand.

    Fuel getting low.

    Stopped for fuel and DPF regen.

    Checking now to see if chain requirement is still active.

    If so, I will be unable to make it to this delivery before cutoff for next week's settlement.

    No, I was burning my 14 for the day. Any time spent doing anything would have meant lost driving time.

    As it turned out, the chain requirement ended at about the time I posted the above post.

    I got on the road and ran out a solid 4 hours of driving and pulled into a Stinker Stop.

    1280 miles to Topeka.

    If the next two days are not terribly 'interesting' I can get this load reported in this settlement period.

    There is no real urgency to getting this load in the bank, I just do not like letting two thousand miles of income sit in someone else's account an extra week.

    I already did that once, last week.
