Uh oh. Looks like I'd better get a 48' spread axle too. My cabover is 330", and while I don't have to worry about swift or werner taking my hood off, I DO have to worry about not having a hood for them to take off.
I'm not sure how long that 2.5' will keep me safer than the long noses, but if I can get in between two of them, I should escape the brunt of the impact of a 90 degree back gone horribly wrong.BeN DaViS Thanks this. -
330" danggggg........

Dirksen and their sister company in CA uses 57'ers. They pull them all with COE's. Their fleet is so big, there is an exception to the new CARB rules that any 57'er with a COE is exempt. How's that for lobbying power?!?!
With a dump valve on the rear axle, that would just unload the rear but not lift the axle, would it?BeN DaViS Thanks this. -
I just purchased a '48 spread last week! It was a repo & got a good deal on it! That same guy has over 20 of them sitting there & I'm sure you can get a good deal on them if your still looking! there 2004's with Thermo King units!

Where in Ohio do you run goodchoice10?

I always had 48' spreads until i pulled my brother n laws 53 tandem for a few weeks, after i seen how much more produce(ran FL weekly) i could stuff in that baby i bought it and sold the spread. Since then i sold that and got out of the game altogether and run local now, but if i was gonna do it again, 53 footer with a 12' spread is all i would pull for sure!!
