I thought of that, which is a special kind of stupid all its own, but the fuel pump comment means he wasn't talking about throwing it in neutral on a down grade.

The real problem isn't people speeding. That doesn't bother me. It's the dummies riding the middle lane (3 lane highway) in a 70mph zone going less than 65mph. It's the idiots that go 10-20 mph slower than the posted speed limit in a construction zone. I've been #####ed at for doing the speed limit in a construction zone. My response was what the #### do want from me. I speed through the zone, I'm the #######. I go slower than the limit, I'm the #######. I go the ####ing speed limit and I'm still the ####ing #######. Guess I'm just an ####### driver.

Correction , the work zone video with fedex , you turn on your turn signal and tried to change lanes into a his lane . You had warning signs 2 1/2 miles back, and chose to manufacture a close call.

If the other truck was not faster , how did it catch you and pull up beside you ?

Simply to stay with the current flow of traffic. On average im doing roughly 65-68 on a good day even though my engine can do 90. It may not seem much, but a good number of states have increased speed limits. Also with that said State Troopers are short any many areas of the nation. Deputies can only do so much, and some law enforcement give you a 5-10mph leway.

We can't let employers, or anyone else, get away with this fallacy of reasoning. If you weren't in one place you would be in another and could just as easily argue that had you driven 1mph faster, you would have been elsewhere. Being in one particular place or another has no statistical impact on your likelihood of having an accident.

Usually using downhills to gain speed to try to pass but loses speed uphill, case in point this video--

In other cases they might be lighter than me going up the hill but are governed less than me on the flats i pass them so what they should have done is held back to a proper following distance instead of making the 5 mile pass.

No one has thanked your post or is likely too. Is this because we are all careless and irresponsible or some other reason?

Fed Ex doesn't mind taking 12 miles to pass us at 1/10th of a mph faster. I usually slow down for my own safety - not keeping another truck next to me or for the Fed Ex's innocent victims in the left lane but ...sheez, what's up with Fed Ex?
