Well you said it there, because most people can calculate how much money they will make driving 75 getting the load there on time and keeping there names out of the supervisors office ( for bad reasons). People however can not calculate the chance of them getting into an accident making a run they have been down 3,000 times yes statistics can be calculated but then factor in the fact that it is not anyone but one person ME, cant happen to me kicks in, hasn't happened yet so why should it? That will be about the best you should be able to get, yes someone may twist the wording around and make it sound better but still the same.

I used it as a referance for anyone who speeds, and it seems to be a common phrase used for anyone who does not wish to name anyone on purpose. Why do you have such a wild hair in your butt because of the name I could have easily called 'joe' then again every joe out here would flip a switch too :)

-shrugs- Im done with the juvinile banter feel free to take the last word on THIS particular matter if you wish, but I apologise to anyone named 'super trucker' out there. :)

Yes statistics can be calculated. But very rarely are they calculated to show a true number. They are all to often calculated to lean towards a specific truck hating agenda.

I have no truck hating agenda, infact I had no agenda at all until I let something, probably spoken in a innocent manner offend me, after a long and exausting day, so, for being wound a bit too tight, I apologise, and will be sending a more personal one soon enough

My only agenda, was, to point out the very (seemingly) little time saved between speeds, I chose what I thought was somthing people would not take offense to, and maybe even find some humor, but it apparently, fired up a good number of people who took offence -shrugs- I cannot handle how other people take somthing that was said , a vexing part of the internet, emotion, and intent do not convey well.

This information is discussed in great detail within many Prime and Stevens threads.

Why do I foolishly drive the speed limit? My boss offers no incentive for me to drive under the speed limit. Why would I want to spend any more time on the road than I have to?

"Super trucker" and "math nazi" are not enduring words. Your orginal math was off. If you are wanting to make a point, you should be correct, and if you make a mistake, own up to it. We all make mistakes. I know full well what your point is. And no, I don't, or now, didn't, go down the road wide open. I did over 30 years ago when the national spped limit was 55, and got many speeding tickets to show for it. Luckily, I haven't had a ticket since 1981, and hope it stays that way. There is money to be saved with reduced speed. Not every truck will respond the same at the same speed. Some trucks will do better MPG wise at 67 than 62, others just the opposite. You have to hand caluclate every tank at different speeds with all other things being equal to figure which is best for your truck.

The newer trucks seem to do much better at low speeds than the older trucks did.

Are you the one who created those statistics on your link?

    Nope.

On a whim I looked up "Time saved while speeding" First link that showed, and I did my best to confirm, it seemed to level out on paper, so I went with it. Yeah, stupid I know to trust another :/

I have always had issues, on the net when it comes to senseing someones intent, intent and emotion do not ...convey well on the net, atleast to me, to those that have taken offense, especially to stranger, I do owe and apology (I gave stranger a more personal one, and I thought I posted one earlier but apparently not) I come here to learn, to 'help and be helped' to barrow from another forum I belong to (unrelated) and I was mearly trying to show how little time is saved when speeding. no other real agenda, other than discussion, for making the tempers flare, and upsetting (if I did) or annoying (I know I did) some drivers, I apologise.

Though, I would enjoy more discussion on this, or I can simply shut up and go to bed :p

I think a better Math problem would be at your speed how long it takes to stop and the safety regarding that...

65mph to 0 in X amount of ft
    vs
75mph to 0 in X amount of Ft.

if safety is the concern then i would think that would be the better argument, just my .02c
