Looks to me like someone needs to set the plant out where he can get some sunlight! And make sure he is watered, and talk nicely to him! He will bloom eventually. . .

Last year I ran OTR, I made $74,450. But I was crawling into the truck Sat Am and getting home Friday night. 7000+ miles per week running team. That was 20 years ago. And it was not worth it and would never do it again.
Local stuff is the best..
Now looking at Owner Operator and pulling what weights out as an empty trailer all miles.Trying to find the right truck set up to get the best MPG running empty all the time. Or under 20,000 lbs counting
the trailer weight.

Home in time to watch football at my house. Off til Tues night. Another reason I went LTL over OTR.

Left LTL 5 months ago. Went back to roll off dumpster ( straight truck ) with a different ma and pa multi-million operation. Crap equipment. Same pay and better benefits and perks as compared to ABF. They leave me the heck alone and no questions of what the heck of anything. Figure it out on your own under 50 drivers, landfill and recycle center.
Now my body hurts in places never thought possible. In/ out of cab upwards of 50 times a day and leather work gloves last a week.
Ltl was interesting and a experience. Way to much bs for me. May go back if a situation comes along. Enjoyed the experience working for 2 top tier carriers.
Now i work upwards of 90 hours OT a month at 1.5x after 40. Similar hours of doing LTL, I liked LTL ,just not the others dictating time.
Now i dictate the time. Get crap done go the f home and it's impossible to screw up the product and report it too the suits. Property and Equipment is just the concern now
TLDR; Don't miss LTL, working harder for same pay, my bonus.....no 2/3 party time dictation.Last edited: Sep 27, 2015

Screw OTR. People have got to be out of their mind to sign on to these outfits where you "earn" one unpaid day off for every six out. Had one driver that I knew tell me he had to sit for three days at a TS waiting for a load cause the dispatchers were going home for the weekend. To top it off, four to six weeks out at a time?!? Yeah, no thank you. Anyone that knowingly signs themselves up under those conditions deserves to make crap pay while working slave hours.
The main reason why I chose local is because it provides the closest thing to a traditional job that you can get while working on a CDL (home daily, weekends off, paid holidays, working in the local area, ect.Last edited: Sep 28, 2015
Robin Williams, Radman and Shaggy Thank this. -
I'm afraid that you are right, RR. But I look at it this way, as long as there are new folks coming into the business who don't have enough brains to do research, before hiring on, it isn't gonna change.
BIGreem1985, Radman and road_runner Thank this.
