There was a $1300 Gibson Explorer B-2 that was marked down on the elusive top row at my Guitar center that was on clearance for $1100. I had already been in the store for an hour at this point and was warmed up, so i thought, What the hell, lets try one of the big guns, and had them take it down.
This $1300 Guitar already had a dud pickup. and instead of fixing it, this place just marked it down $200 and then didnt even say anything until after I brought it up to them to tell them it was broke. "Oh we know. Thats why its on clearance"
Why the hell would I still shell out over a grand for a guitar that I immediately have to fix. God, that irritated me.
Why I will never give Gibson another penny!

Smdh.... that explains all the negative stuff I’ve heard about Guitar Center. I spotted a place in Indiana called Sweetwater Music... one of these days I’ll have to check it out. There used to be a small place near me called area records in Geneva, NY. Up front they have a full record store and in back & along the walls the had a decent selection of guitars, basses, drums, amps and all sorts of related goodies. I spotted a used BC rich warlock in there at one point. I was going to buy an Ibanez SR series 5 string bass rig only to find the owner retired and closed the place up for good.
