You think I'm joking or it's just too absurd to be real. Try driving 60, as an experiment , and you will abandone all hope in humanity. :D

    I don't think you're joking at all.
    I completely understand.

    Mine is set at 68.
I have no probs with it til I can't get around someone in a timely fashion.

That's why I had that problem remedied.

I only use it when I have to.

Speaking as an elderly mom with a mini-van, and I drive for Wal Mart, I take great offense at the proceeding statements.

Many times I've gone to pass a truck and when I pull out they go from 60 to 68 or so. I had a radar on my truck so I could verify this was happening.

I've gone to pass a truck and when I swing out into the hammer lane a "reduced speed ahead" sign stares me straight in the face. Now, I have a choice. Either speed to get by this truck or reduce my speed and stay stuck in the hammer lane.

I've also gone to pass a truck and all of a sudden the road seems to try to climb up over heaven. If I'm heavy I lose my momentum quickly and then become a road block.

Even governed automatics will fly dowhill. I have to get on the brakes all the time to stay under 72 (company rules). Getting a draft doesn't matter. If you are restricted to 66, that's what it will do. I pick my battles with heavier trucks and let faster ones by, even if I have to lift for a few.

I can't agree more. I go to pass because they are at 57 according to radar and when they see the trailer, they jack it up to 68.

This is the most common issue in trucking and the evidence that drivers are worse than ever.

The imbecilic attitude of being so offended because someone wants to drive a little faster than you that you will stab the throttle and Tijuana Turtle Race them for as long as you can should be cause for a lifetime ban from driving anything.

I have my max speed set at 99 mph just because of these morons, when they pull this childish crap I just blast past their governed speed, pull over in front of them and Jake down immediately to the speed I was driving when I first caught them.

They know exactly what they are doing, they should not be rewarded for tormenting everyone on the road and giving all of us a bad name; mock and shame them until they go back to the french fry bin where they belong ;)
