How about some pics? I am interested in this route as it doesn't require cutting a hole in my roof or back of sleeper, and I'm not interested in hanging a window unit out my window every time I shut down lol
Will a portable A/C unit work inside my truck?

Or even a link to the unit would be great, thanks! -
Edit to add: I used the same start capacitor Danny mentioned, ordered from somewhere online.Last edited: Jul 5, 2015
Terry270 Thanks this. -
I have an 8000btu portable A/C with Honda 2000iu. On a very hot 110 degree day it might get things down to 86 degrees in the top bunk where I sleep. Where it shies is in the shade or when the sun goes down or whenever the temp is below 100 degrees outside.
Generator shut off yesterday and will not restart. Spark plug looks burned up. Kicking myself for not having a spare on board, do you know ho hard it is to find this specialty psrk plug while driving around the interstates on a primary mission to get to the final?
So then I have to idle the truck which is throwing all kinds of hissy fit check engine lights about EGR plugged and delta pressure issues etc.
Been running little generator and A/C unit since summer of 2011. Gotta say, I don't think my truck would still be on the road today if I had to idle the engine all those summers.icsheeple and dannythetrucker Thank this. -
I'm starting to wonder if it will be enough for what I want. I'm looking to cool the cab down to under 70*, think this is possible? It is a midroof so that helps

Put a new spark plug in the honda and it still will not start. Will put it in the shop when I get home, meanwhile found a local Home Depot and bought a $599 Ryobi 2200 generator and enjoying nice cool air ciculating the sleeper.
