Probably you will be OK on the flat road. Remember, we have to go over dips and bumps with sharp turns. Ask me how i learn.
Farmerbob1 and Coloradoman Thank this. -
Lol yeah. I'm hoping it will work, I dont have the means to pull it off at the house and no where to put it in denver.
-
I know it will not help significantly, but looks like the 5th wheel can go back a notch also.
Coloradoman Thanks this. -
That's what I was thinking, bring it back a little, might give me just enough room.
-
I have the same setup with a headache rack with exposed chain and binder racks.
What I've run into is when pivoting you will be close to the corner of trailer but not refer. The issue is like states above dips and bumps. If you come out of a driveway or easement the nosedrops and corner comes across the feet of your rack. 9 times out of ten it will hit them.not dislodging the rack. But bending them pretty good.
Find a parking lot see if you can put it under a trailer and pivot to put corner of trailer dead center of head ache rack. See what you have room wise.
A lot of trucks have different movement. As well as different height 5th wheels. Just check it against a trailer. Get first hand info before jumping that shark.Coloradoman Thanks this. -
Thanks! That's what I figured, get up there and see what happens. If not I'll have it for sale in denver lol.
-
As I see it the fifth wheel is set all the way forward. Just slide it back to have more room between reefer and rack. Denver is very good place to test it.
Coloradoman Thanks this. -
One more thing.
Trailers can have different distance from king pin to the front/corner. I was good with Wabash and damaged my shine Great Dane right on the dealer driveway . -
Wasn't to sure if they were all the same. Never pulled a refer before.
