Here's the problem with the complaints from dartman and rbuilder, both complain of issues when violating the log book system. It's there for a reason, safety. All truck companies have safety rules even with today's elogs. Starting out in the Trucking industry is not a get rich quick business. The is only a very small percentage who make good money and in doing so as a truck driver you need also know how to manage your finances according to your in coming cash flow. If windy hill policy is to assure that they have a receipt for everything by charging the driver if one is not turned in, then this is perfectly good business, as without a receipt for the company, they can't legally write the cost off for tax purposes. So be sure to always keep a copy of any repair work or lumper fees and always send a copy to the company to assure no charge backs. This is with all companies. They don't want to lose money either. Both sides have to work together. I've been in this business over 26 years and learned plenty in that time, and still learning a thing or two with all of today's modern tech.

Majority of companies would treat you like a #. Too many drivers in this world to keep track of by name. Dispatchers are human too and not all have a superior memory to remember every driver they talk to on a daily bases. As mentioned by another, you are new in the industry, stop acting as if you need to be given a dozen roses and high pay coming out of training. If you worked hard to earn good pay, after a couple of years proving yourself worthy, then you could complain of low pay. I started out at .15¢ a mile, driving a yellow international cabover back in '89. I sa hard worker then and still do so now. That is business in general no matter who you work for our what industry you choose. You get paid based on experience. Be grateful to even have a job in today's world where the population within the USA is outgrowing it's job demand.

Chompi sounds like a windy hill employee and rather sour someone would say something bad about them. Chompi sitting alot is not trucking it's poor planning or greed on the company's part. Poor planning not to keep our trucks within reasonable deadhead of a reload, greed if that load pays really well and the company doesn't mind the truck sitting for a couple of days until something comes up. I will not sit nor would I expect anyone else to. Dispatching trucks is a real job and takes alot of planning and looking ahead not jus jumping on the first thing you see.

I agree with you yeshua, I want receipts for tax purposes and to hold down on fraud. Let's face it every one isn't honest and you can't expect them just to hand over money without proof. If loosing receipts is an issue then take a picture of it as soon as you get it with your name, truck # and trip or load # . With the transflo app or Ann app to scan and convert to PDF.
Every company will have pro's and cons. Just figure out what you need from a company and accept the rest
Pick your battles, and let the rest go. Hi -

Does windy hill let you take your trucks home

from what the gentleman was telling me out of Eustis, you have to leave your truck there and they make you sign a contract if you are a student saying you’ll be with them for one year. If you quit after one year, they can come after you for a prorated rate of the training cost associated with it.

I only have some second-hand knowledge, but I will pass it along anyway.
One of guys in my CDL class had some criminal background.[0] The school turned him on to Windy Hill, saying they might be more accepting of that. That was in 2018 and that's all I know.
[0] FWIW, he was very honest and remorseful about it. A brother from the south side. Sounded like he did some things he regretted when he was younger, and trying now to get his life back on track. He was sincere enough that I believed him at least.
