So, I need some advice, we all know about the snow storm that's coming in across the country, I got this load from Middleboro, Massachusetts and going to Sulphur Springs, Texas. I was supposed to deliver it today but due to my hours I couldn’t make it, so I told my dispatcher I'll deliver it tomorrow ( Saturday ) but now that I'm looking at the forecast and that storm coming in, I do not want to get caught in that snow and ice, I do not want to be one of those guys in the ditch on the side of the road! I'll be stopping in that Love's in Malvern, Arkansas today so by Saturday morning the storm will be on me ( I think ) , will this place ( Ocean Spray Cranberry ) even open tomorrow for delivery, they are 24/7 so they might. I want to call my dispatcher back and tell him that I'm gonna wait until Sunday to see how things are, I don't wanna wait until Monday though, that's too long, so I don't know if I'm gonna get penalty for not delivering it tomorrow, or not get payed or get yelled at or whatever companies do to drivers these lol. So is my concern real or am I overreacting.
Thanks!Last edited: Jan 23, 2026

I think you're effed. You'll wake up tomorrow, and move when the roads clear. Monday or Tuesday.
Do you have time to get into Louisiana?Last edited: Jan 23, 2026

Take it day by day and hour by hour...this stuff happens every winter. Safety should always be your priority. if its not safe to drive then park it.

No load is worth your life. You're looking at a Monday delivery at the earliest. If it's a drop or FCFS delivery then it shouldn't be too much of an issue. The consignee most likely will close due to the weather. Texas doesn't have the infrastructure in place to properly treat the roads for this much ice accumulation. I'd update the dispatcher and advise you'll provide an updated ETA Monday.

####... Really? Nope, I have 3h 40 minutes left on my recap...
####... Cool, I will be only about 195 miles from the consignee from where I stopped, alright, I'll look at how it is Sunday then.The_vett, hope not dumb twucker, Trucker61016 and 1 other person Thank this. -
All the folks who don't like runnin up your way in winter are down here.
Impending doom is certain. Flip Flops will be lost, and AR I-40 looks over at all the idiots on WY I-80 and says "hold my beer"hope not dumb twucker, BoostedTeg, FullMetalJacket and 10 others Thank this. -

Last I heard was north in Oklahoma, Ponca city was calling 6-10 inches snow. Be gridlock there.. I went on home.. it’s warmer. remember you captain that ship. It’s bad stop. Be better be late then upside down in ditch asking @Chinatown for a new job recommendation… probably be ice under the snow for us in the south.
