Well great news gents and gals. I am a good candidate for the WIOA program. 9 weeks. I'm just waiting on my birth certificate. They said they will help me figure out the employment stuff. I'm also doing due diligence on researching different companies near my area. I've been reading my manual and taking practice tests. Luckily for me I had a very through background check that was done a few months ago that is over 10 pages long. But that's mostly every address where I lived since I was born. (Moved around a lot when 8 was a kid). Got to clear up a ticket I got back in October (simple violation that was me driving a friend's truck with him not having it insured). So wish me luck, cuz I'm guna need it.

It is another grant program to flood the industry with drivers that are not needed.

    no offense OP.

WIOA offers training grants for tons of opportunities. I used my grant to get a free CDL, and I got to pick my school. Definitely the current preferred method of obtaining a Class A.

Congratulations on your acceptance. I would ask questions about the other opportunities to use your WIOA grant. You can do most of the trades. Welding, electrical, HVAC. Tons of different programs. I asked just to explore options, but chose to stick with the CDL route.

You mean to imply that there is no driver shortage!?!? You’ll be hearing from the ATA directly for such blasphemy.

    You subversive SOB....... :biggrin_25514:

Edit: This was definately meant in a good way.
Of course, they kicked you out. Honesty, integrity & morals have no place in the ATA.

Start writing down every job you have had, with address, supervisor, phone number, and start/end dates. Yes, it may be hard. Yes you still have to come up with it even if it is hard. You need this info for last 3 years and each job application will require it.
