Speed limits are about making money. It's not about safety.

You're telling me I'm unsafe hitting 100 through Nebraska in my personal vehicle? I think not as long as I'm not tailgating.

Ive passed plenty troopers doing that out there and they didn't even look at me. Probably looking for someone with Colorado plates.

I don't like much about Michigan but I do like the way they handle work zones. 45 mph where workers present.

Nothing like driving some 30+ mile stretch of highway with a 45 mph speed limit that is better than most of the interstate in the country (i88 west of Chicago had a god awful one of these for awhile, haven't been there lately). I think most of the work zone speed limits are ridiculous for that matter. Goes both ways too, I've seen 55 - 60 mph limits where they have guys working across the zipper and you are #### near driving off-road on the torn up shoulder.

But there must be a special place in hell for those guys that pass you when you got narrow lanes and concrete i-beams on both fog lines, they never seem to be able to keep it in their lane either.

There's a thread somehow about a stretch exactly like this, in Indiana IIRC, that is being used as what's probably the world's biggest speed trap.

indiana has several places marked worksite 55 with nothing around. no barrels, no cones, no other signs, nothing. i run those roads several times a week and get updates from other drivers. i don't lift.

My thoughts exactly! Those who speed are self centered Egotistical morons who have no concern for others, nor the laws on the road. And secondly...??? Tic toc tic tok tic toc.

My Rig is the same way, you know the old saying.... If your gonna work a horse, then you need to feed it. My truck does way better on fuel if I maintain the basic speed in my running areas. Can I go faster? #### right I can, but what's the sense? Be safe out there.

Totally agree! Lot of work going on now up on 79, usually a Bear there as well with his disco's going. Last couple of weeks I've seen guys working right between the barrels, with an already narrow lane. I just don't want to take the chance of seeing one of them trip and fall in front of my truck, probably couldn't get stopped but I would have a better chance. Let's just ALL be safe out there.

You 2 dummies add yourself to the clueless list....I normally wouldn't say that but you attack me...At least give an answer to the question!!!
    Cowards!
I MYSELF said I'm clueless in the original post! I said I don't get it and tried to come up with reasons myself about why the speeding happens.
There are so many things beyond this topic I'm clueless about.
I wanted to hear TRUE ANSWERS about the reasons you speed, and you both obviously are exactly the types who would have a relevant answer.

Instead you read the thread, took time to reply, BUT DIDN'T ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!
