You been to Winnipeg? Inside the Perimeter of course. I've met people new to the country that come from places with 10-15 times the population who say Winnipeg is the most nonsensically laid out city they've ever seen.
And honestly, I'd agree. The only way someone can understand how the streets work here is to live here.
Try getting from St. James industrial over to Regent Avenue without using the Perimeter or Bishop Grandin.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Only been within the perimeter once. Don't remember where exactly i went but don't remember it being too difficult. I don't think I was anywhere near the city centre. I have heard others say the same thing about knowing your way around there, need to live there to get the hang of it. I like how the south bypass route seems to be way out from the city.

Had a trip from San Diego to Oxnard 185 miles. I anticipated it would take 5 hours.
After leaving San Diego, a rolling road block shutdown I-5 for an Immigration check.
Then I hit LA ....... that 5 hour trip took 7.5 hours.
F### So Cal and LA !x1Heavy Thanks this. -
LA hands down. Atl sucks, but you get thru it. Chicago is more varied than the ATl. 9 pm chi town is fine.
DTP Thanks this. -
What is this LA you speak of, just a bit of traffic is all. No worse than say route one in Jersey off 287 during rush. //teasing.
They once closed off 5 nb in our faces collectively after a fatal on the upgrade and we were forced off 5 into what I recall as near hollywood, we lined up nose to tail and roared through there, lights be ###### at speed. 60 or 70 or so. I think the limits were 25 at most. What a night. I don't like it too much but when it's late and all those trucks roll, stay out of the way... were coming through.Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
Los Angeles, by a HUGE margin.
A few years ago, I had to make a delivery in Commerce (which is just SW of LA) at 0900... because that’s a perfect time to schedule a delivery there... But anyway, I left the Petro in Ontario at 0615 and got to the consignee at 0900 on the dot. Almost 3 hours for a 41 mile drive. It blows my mind how people can tolerate a miserable commute like that twice a day, 5 times a week. You can keep that racket! -
I was in Pittsburgh and had a great time. Of course I wasn’t driving an 18-wheeler.Trucker61016, SingingWolf and x1Heavy Thank this.

On Sunday morning starting at 600, I had 3 deliveries (Vernon, El Monte and and Pomona.) Stayed in Onterio. Took me 30 mins to go the 25 miles. Stayed the night in Onterio again for my pick up the next morning 20 miles away. 2 hours. Made it with 20 mins to spare. But of course they were closed the previous 4 days cause of the holiday so they didn't have anything ready. Sat there for 9 1/2 hours

Pfft. Cracka, please.

Minneapolis takes three hours for a fifteen mile drive--and that's in the SUMMER. I've run the LA basin and the Twin Cities, and I'll take LA any day of the week compared to the brass-plated, three-cornered, Cat-powered clusterbungle in Minnesota.bzinger Thanks this.
