I worked in the bay area. I asked the few friends I still have there. They said theyre busier then ever. And cali is STILL shut down.

But they don't sleep in their trucks. All the bay area drivers are home every night. Idk about every warehouse. But i assume the mast majority are local drivers

Veriha. They took over my old Iowa based company (which was already ran into the ground by the original owner’s ####### son in law, Tom, who sold it behind the owner’s back and screwed all the drivers), made all kinds of promises how it would still be ran as it was before, same long haul freight, a bit better pay, etc. All those promises turned out to be complete lies, as they took all the old company’s good freight and equipment and gave it to their own trained zombies, and left the the old company’s drivers with junk equipment and crappy short haul freight. And then the micromanaging started, since Veriha is run by ex-Schneider executive lackeys. Right after I got out of that mess and came to where I am now, Veriha had all but gotten rid of the old company’s office people and drivers, completely liquidating it.

I was referring to sleeping in trucks while unloading or between stops. I used to do that when running a route so I know.

As far as being busy, don't know about that. Here in Chicago everything is closed down, so don't know how that can be.

My info is very dated to be fair ...2008... and there has been a change in ownership as well along with a better class of customer.
When i worked there it was an absolute shat show that lasted about 5 weeks before I said goodbye , with that said times have changed and the outlaw days are long over .
I live in omaha and was home every week ....and they payed well and on time .
I won't bore you with details because I'm pretty sure things have changed but I they definitely knew how I felt when I left !

    Landstar.

I'm living in the truck with my cat, and all we can afford is Beefaroni.

Anybody else reminded of the scene in Mad Max where he's digging into a can of dog food while the dog watches?
