What a driver gets paid to come down isn't any of the next broker's business. Why should they line your pockets with profit they've already earned?Big_D409, LandslideRich, driverdriver and 4 others Thank this.

THANK you. Just like there's no such thing as backhauls. Dang I hate brokers sometimes. A load is a load, and a buck a mile for my reefer ain't gonna cut it. Problem is...SOME sad sack is gonna listen to the brokers self serving bull crap and actually TAKE that load, thereby perpetuating the madness. And for the record, my best loads come out of Florida.passingthru69, rocknroll81, LandslideRich and 4 others Thank this.

Low paying loads are almost always a pain in the ###.
I am darn good at what I do. I will "waste" the fuel before I sell myself like a cheap call girlpassingthru69, Big_D409, wore out and 8 others Thank this. -
Just remember...like the man says better planning and listening to whatever the broker tells ya will keep you in the tall cottonLandslideRich and gokiddogo Thank this.

The part I liked the best was that clown sayin a 700 mile run was MAYBE a half day of our time. Riiiiiiight.

Somebody save the Cabbage !!
icsheeple and LandslideRich Thank this. -
As the guy who pays them to come down I'd say it's my business lol. Most of my produce right now goes to FL from TX.

Read what I said carefully. I said that you want to pick freight coming out of FL based on it taking as little time as possible. Obviously if this cabbage guy wants you to wait around all day and deliver to a grocery store he's on crack at 700 bucks. If the load is ready now and going to some packing house in NC that will have you empty in 1-2 hours it's a very different story. Also obviously it can't take you far out of your way. How much deadhead you have to do to get to the load and how much deadhead you have to do once you unload is way more important than rate in FL this time of year.
In other words hauling cheap freight out of FL is a fact of life... What isn't a fact of life is wasting any time down there at all. Either find a super compatible back haul or just deadhead out. -
I did say "Next broker" to be clear.
