@rockie22 --
Post #2 in your previous LTL thread is actually very good advice:
Road driver for YRC or CDL A local Sysco | TruckersReport.com Trucking Forum | #1 CDL Truck Driver Message Board (thetruckersreport.com)
If you currently have almost a year of experience--stay where you are thru the winter.
In the meantime--if you don't have ALL the endorsements--tanker, hazmat & doubles/triples--work on getting them.
For any worthwhile LTL work--you will need them to qualify.
For almost all the better-paying CDL jobs--you'll need them, anyway.
Also--if you can, and have the spare time--get forklift certified.
Add Old Dominion Freight to you LTL list, also.

Hi guys
Speaking of LTL . I am getting a job with Xpo doing local work . I noticed they only have pup . is that a good class A experience ? This will be my first job if all goes well. -
That counts as Class-A experience. A 53' trailer is easier to back than a pup, so if you change jobs again, you won't have any problems backing the 53'.

Do you have a family?
Yellow is apparently still doing the no cost medical coverage for family like Reddaway did. You still have a deductible.
Talked to a guy just yesterday that used to work at Yellow. I mentioned that their equipment seemed pretty garbage.
He said they just started deploying new Volvo tractors and the trailers are slowly getting replaced with new ones.
Talk to drivers from each company's local terminal to get a better idea of what's what.Zoltan1a Thanks this. -
I’ve been with Xpo for 22 years. No company Is perfect, they all have issues. Just have to find the one for you with more positives than negatives.
snowlauncher, Bill51 and Chinatown Thank this. -
Just to update, saw two Yellows today. Both had new Volvo single screws and at least one (probably both) had a brand new pup. Saw the inside of one and it looked brand new.
Side of the tractor door says "Yellow" and below it, "Operated by Reddaway".
Make of that what you will.Chinatown Thanks this. -
All the companies are now melded into one or are in the process of being integrated. They are no longer YRC but have reverted to the old Yellow name and logo. Terminals are being moved and combined. The newer equipment is coming on line but it’ll be a short time before it’s trashed out. Sad to see! As a former CFCC and CF guy it really is sad to see such fine companies sucked up by the dumpster fire that is now Yellow. It’s an insult to what Yellow and the other big union LTL’s used to representZoltan1a, Dennixx, Bill51 and 1 other person Thank this.

XPO was my first driving job too. I enjoyed it. I was doing linehaul, and it was about 95% pups, although occasionally I'd pull a van. The P&D guys at my service center mostly used vans, some of the shorter routes or tighter customer facilities got pups. Do you have all your endorsements? Doing linehaul, I used my doubles/triples, tanker, and haz mat, sometimes all for the same load.Chinatown Thanks this.

They have everything not just pups
