I've noticed when they offer OT they just deflate the wages.
FedEx pays OT and they're our neighbor, but we're paid straight time. Our wage is 8 dollars higher, but again we get no time and a half

Top hourly rate in my barn is north of $29/hr. You're telling me that XPO pays $37 straight time for city drivers?Last edited: Apr 1, 2019

You will be nothing more than a dock worker with a CDL. Enjoy.
-
FedEx pays nothing close to $29 in my area. The best paid drivers in my area are old Dominion @ around 28.80ish.
Excluding UPS which pays $30 an hour, but to get that you need like 20 years of seniority. -
Every FXF barn in the country has a top out hourly rate above $27 an hour...
-
Gotcha. Than I'm misinformed. How long does it take to reach top rate?
-
3 years, some barns after 1 if they struggle to hire or retain drivers.
-
Our hourly rate at OD is $29.73

The ones that do offer OT will bend over backwards to make sure you don’t get any, up to and including cutting drivers back to 4 day weeks.LoneCowboy Thanks this.

They most certainly will lol. Even if they need work, they'd send the guy close to OT home, and hire a street walker right on the spot to do it for less. LOL
