When you sit for 5 days waiting for parts to repair the smashed headlight/mirror/whatever you will find it becomes your problem in a hurry.

Or the company does a slap dash job patching the hole which paints a bullseye for DOT.

You got that right @starmac lol.

I'm with @gentleroger on this one. Not your problem but how much do you get paid while the truck is down dealing with this crap? I'm guessing because you are running the risk of this you are otr and therefore most likely cpm pay? Hard to get miles sitting in a loves with your hood scattered all over the place.

I make a lot of backing videos and get comments all the time asking why did I park off by myself instead of parking between trucks already parked to protect my hood. I feel it doesn't matter, no way to know if the people you're parking next to have been there 1 hour or 9 hours, I still prefer to go off by myself. Parked way off in the corner desert lot at Blythe California one time next morning surrounded by tons of sheeple truckers lol.

Starts with a question on etiquette, ends on the other side of the spectrum with "not my problem." One of them is a lie.

OP, it's totally situational. Park where it's the safest.

So your pride goes out the window just because you don’t own the truck? :biggrin_25513:

You just make a lot of videos. The derisive comments...well, that's another story.
Sidenote: if you're parking off by yourself, why make a video about it? You're not going to 'instruct' anyone on how to do it properly if there's no skill involved. Or are the videos strictly for your ego? because I haven't seen one yet that held any real content.

There was the one about which lane of a double right turn lane a truck was supposed to use...:biggrin_25520:
