I’m bout to do an out and back job that does the same or slightly better than yeller but with ok or worse bennies until a job at tforce opens up- 3 guys from my terminal got hired on there I guess I was to slow to apply. 2 of ‘‘em retire next year and one is so hot headed to probably stay there. I just got to wait it out and check their job board and call those guys regularly to see witch one is the weakest link lol

Haven't heard back with him. Not sure if his ship will sail.

If you take the 1099 job and you get hurt on the job how will you pay your medical bills? No workman comp with most 1099 companies.
Is the 1099 wage a good thirty to forty percent more than standard wages for that job? You'll need to be setting aside that much money to pay your taxes. If you don't pay, the IRS will dig a hole for you that you'll spend the rest of your life digging out of.
If you take the 1099 job you might be tempted to run extra hard and extra fast to make up for the lack of income. Don't do it or you'll start picking up traffic tickets and pretty soon DMV will take your license away and hand you a pair of roller skates.
1099 jobs are for desperate people with no other choices. You have skills. Go find a way to use them.

I have seen billboards in the St Louis area for ready mixer drivers paying $37 an hour. I realize the pay for ready mixer drivers isn’t this good all over the country, but you may find the pay close to what YRC paid. It could be a temp job for you until you can get hired by a good LTL company.

Agreed. Mine is one of them. My point is, there is silliness and stupidity at every company. Just have to shake your head, ignore it and do your job. Try and figure it out and your head will explode.
