Just yell, "Don't worry, the last time I did this I only hit four vehicles." They'll back up real quick.

One of the things I don't care about anymore now that I'm "IN" the buisness. In school and for my 1st company road test they wanted me to do a 45 alley dock with less than 4 pull-ups.

Now I do as many as I darn well feel like.

Also whenever it's my turn to "sort the yard" (every driver at my company comes in one day a month just to re-park all the trailers because they get crooked after a while) it's usually the straightest.

I drove tanker for a brief period, when I was still quite green and not very good yet. Some of the gas stations I delivered to were tight squeezes, and so sometimes it took awhile to get the tank positioned where I needed it. Inevitably, the cashier would come out and start making some monkey motions in an effort to "help" me. I simply ignored them, but it was irritating. I never once told them how to drive their cash registers, so why are they telling me how to drive my truck?

I also remember a time in a drop yard when I was having trouble getting into the spot, and another driver offered to help. I quite plainly told him no, and he stood there waving his arms around and getting in my way anyway. Guess he didn't understand English.

Or Spanish or French - the French "Non" sounds extremely similar to the English "No" and the Spanish "No" sounds exactly like the English "No". :biggrin_25523:

Excellent point!:biggrin_25514: But I've learned a very long time ago, people of the male persuasion go deaf when a woman says "no", no matter what language they speak:biggrin_25510:

Back around 2004 I remember at Schneider a woman crushing her husband to death between the tandems and the ICC bumper. while he fought with a stuck pin probably. In the years I was at Schneider I heard of many accidents like this although most were not fatal, just close. I know people mean well but I don't want nor need any help when backing up, sliding tandems, or anything. It's a distraction. Good thing I never get any help or am even offered assistance. Most people just sit in their trucks and watch.

No. But in our defense women are notorious for not being able to make up their mind. So, we've had to develop our own way of deciphering the various levels of no. For instance......

NO!= Maybe, just not right now.

No thank you!= A definate maybe. Any sign of politeness is a potential for a yes.

I said No! What are you, deaf?= Definately a maybe. That many words together is almost half a conversation.

I said NO! If you ask me again, I'm going to shoot you in the face!= Ok, that is probably a definate no. Most likely.
