For me it was the fall of 93 I had just turned 18 the Min age IL would let me get my CDL I started hauling grain animal feed whatever my boss needed moved. Truck the first winter was a 62 Emeryville Cabover with a 318 Detroit mated to a 5x4 tranny. I learned REAL FAST how to shift it. Then I got a 71 IH Transtar the next spring and thought I had died why it had a 350 Cummins Small Cam in it and a 13 Speed.

First truck I drove OTR aka out of IL was a 88 Pete 379 with a Fleet 310 Cat to go and pick up a trailer in MI for my new boss. Bobtailed to Lansing MI and came back Empty. By the time I left him I had the Biggest horse in the Fleet his 88 IH 9300 called Rose 444 we Overhauled to 850 to the Ground and she would flat out haul tail anywhere I needed.
