I forgot your in Chicago. If you don't mind running teams apply to YRC as well. They are fairly easy to work for. Yes the got a bad rep now but they will take you and train you, get experience then keep an eye out for other opportunities. My friend is out of there now.

Yup, Yrc owns Holland, New Penn, and Reddaway. Yrc is struggling but the regionals are profiting pretty well. Sucks cause they are trying to put in a 5 yr pay freeze. Sucks when us regionals are pulling profit every quarter and we can't get a raise. With this freeze bottom of the barrel here we come! I would think being a female would be more encourage to be hired on do to discrimination reasons seen food service companies on hiring ads say woman should apply.

Ah, auto and home insurance makes sense. Never heard of that being payroll deductible.

Female working the barn would be great. So i can show my sister with new CDL it's possible.
Enjoying that day, when my sister shows up at same location. I'm cutting her ### off and putting boogers on her windshield if we get 2 docks :biggrin_2551:

Gonna way my two cents in...

There are less female drivers/dockworkers not cause we don't hire them, but because they don't apply. It's a matter of statistics, not hiring preference. This is industry wide. Trucking has been, and always will be a male dominated career field. We do have some female drivers at some of our terminals, and quite frankly, they all can outmaneuver/outrun me any day of the week.

And holy crap is YRC broke. I had no idea how broke we were until they started hanging up propaganda posters on how broke we are. It is absolutely insane how financially f'ed we are. Makes me wonder if I will still have a job in five years.

I don't know if you guys can read any of it, but I found this hanging at one of our terminals near their safety board.

I never understood YRC being in a position to buy anyone. They were in a very fragile financial position long before they acquired Roadway and USF. I'm sure it probably has something to do with busting the last few Union trucking companies that are left. And that will be a sad day for all.

If I read that correct. YRC has massive debt. Let's say a CRST moves in lowers rates. How can any LTL's compete with that junk?

YRC has a crap load of equipment / property/ employees, WTF is going on? Never had YRC on my radar as a crap company.

OH I SEE, Not official company memo. Even if half true, Still sucks to see.
