    KW T-2000, T-700, or a Pete?

    What do you prefer...and why?

2009 T2000. In the shop 6 times in the past month. Was it my 1st choice? No, but it's my truck, and I can't complain. My preferences would be T700, T660, 587, T200, Freightliner in that order. I prefer the T700/T660 mainly for the looks. The 700 has more room than the 660, but the 660 is like a car on the inside...meaning that everything is within reach instead of having to do the right arm stretch like you do in the 700 or the 2000. The Pete 587 is a very nice truck, but it's too heavy. The T2000's are nice trucks, but they're getting older now...meaning that they're going to have more problems. The Freightliners....well lets just put it this way. If I wanted to drive a Freightliner, I would have gone to a different company.

Pete and the name explains it all.

I bought my T-2000. I like it for the room, the layout. The desk is nice, the dash is workable. The 700 is just a newer 2000 with a new name.
I've had a 660, W-900 and 600. All have smaller cabs, which for some is preferable, but I like the extra room up front.
The 660 will turn a bit sharper than the 2000/700, but that comes in handy only once in a while.

I like the 2000/700 for the room and my refrigerator fits under the desk.

I like my Pete and as long as I am a company driver I will take whatever is given too me. However Peterbilt service is a flippin joke. Rush Truck Center is NEVER happy to see you even if the truck is throwing a code and it's only got 7,000 miles on it. The Pete Stores on the east coast are the same way. The smallest problems will kill you for two days because Peterbilts dealer network works banker hours and the ones that work on Saturday only work until noon.

Never had many problems with my Freightliners in the past which is ironic because finding a 24 hour Freightliner dealer is really no problem at all not to mention TA and Petro are certified to perform warranty work on them.

Time is money and Peterbilt has indirectly taken a lot of money out of my pocket.

So to answer your question......That is why I would choose a KW over a Pete.

I have herd this from a few other drivers and trainers on the yard. Also said that Pete parts are more expensive (For the contractors) and usually take longer to acquire when they have to be ordered in the event of a middle of nowhere breakdown. Sounds about right?

I hopped up into one of the 660's sitting over by the detail shop today and YES...I was very surprised at how much smaller the front cab is. Doesn't seem comfortable for training situations with two people. Does look very nice from the outside though, but of course that's not a priority.
