Flip flop dress code

    I wore flip flops while driving because of comfort and easier to keep the floor cleaner, always tried to switch to closed toed shoes when outside of truck. In bathrooms it was disgusting in flip flops. I do not like pee and other fine products on my toes, that went with the parking lots also.

    Uhuh like ####ing flip flop comes off in a panic stop/emergency situation and gets stuck under brake pedal

    And if your truck design or foot wear doesn't allow this to be possible? Your panties could get your nuts tangled up and distract you. Sounds like a personal problem, doesn't it. Just make sure whatever you wear is safe for your circumstance.

    Ohh so that's why nobody has panties on anymore. It is a safety thing, and the nonstop CB announcements are a safety message....it all makes sense now.

    I drive barefoot, shoes come off at the door. And if I’m on a long run in the summer time where I have a day to just drive with no loading or unloading then I don’t really care what you think of I choose to wear shorts and flip flops.

    I drive barefoot. Have since the day I got my license. I put my socks and shoes on when I get somewhere. Why? Why not? I've always liked to wiggle my toes. If I have to sit in this seat 11 hours a day I'm going to be comfy doing it. I really don't give a rats ### what anyone else thinks or does.

    But I certainly don't walk around truck stops barefoot or in flip flops. I find that unprofessional. What I wear when I drive is my business. When I get out I represent my company and my profession.

    When I was pulling reefer I drove with 50$ sandals . Now that im dry van I wear shoes all the time , with reefer I was doing 2700-3000 miles a week , with dry van it's more like 2300 miles a week. I spend more time out of the truck not driving is I guess the big reason.

    2300 miles a week? If I get less than 3000 miles a week my dispatcher gets a very #####y call from me. 2300 I'd give them the keys to the truck.

    I stopped working hard and started working smarter I make more now than I did with any high mile gig. Just like flatbed and especially with guys that pull OS/OW and heavy loads make money for the job it's not really about the miles . It's not rare to see a open deck driver running 1800 miles a week making 1300$ a week.
