What were these "safety violations"? Do you have 1 or more speeding tickets or any tickets at all?
Or do you have company imposed violations like doing 68mph down hill in a truck limited to 65mph or bumping a pole with your truck or trailer and scratching it then reporting it to your safety dept? -

That in no way should affect your ability to get another job.
I would say stop messing around with megas that have stupid policies like that. Start looking at companies that are more local or regional to you. They're usually smaller and don't do a lot of advertising for jobs, mainly because they don't have to.
Imo, reefer Co's are where I'd be looking if I were in your position. Food products still need to be run no matter what and drivers are needed for that.chitaylor Thanks this. -
I am curious. Do you understand why it is that the company you worked for considered this unacceptable behavior?
If you are parked there for a break, and another driver needs a place to pull over for an actual emergency? Well, I am confident you can see the potential problem.
This specific behavior, on the face of it, is not a serious enough issue to fire someone for... BUT if you are the type of driver that will abuse emergency parking areas to take breaks, what other safety corners are you going to cut? Will you drive an extra 3 miles to avoid a dangerous U-turn? Will you drive a single block down a residential area marked for no truck access to avoid driving an extra mile or two? Will you drive the wrong way on a one-way street at 3AM because your GPS is screwed up and hasn't updated street changes?
While there ARE lots of stupid restrictions put on/against us truck drivers, probably 90% of the public roadway truck restriction signage makes sense.
If you want to stay in the industry, and you want to work for a decent company that will pay you well ( after you clean up your current status a bit ) then I strongly suggest that you start following all the road sign rules, not just the ones that don't interfere with what you want to do. If you can't manage this, then you will likely find yourself to be unhireable, or in jail after killing someone while doing what you think you should be doing, rather than following road signage.
Sorry to be harsh, but I really want you to succeed as a driver, and I suspect that at least a couple safety department office weebs have probably tried to explain things to you with nice words and politically correct bleating.chitaylor Thanks this. -
Was it an emergency parking area or just one of those pull outs on the turnpike with the sign says "park x ft from freeway which is behind painted line" or soemthing similar.

I still have people calling me drive for them mind you been several months since I applied I job hop didn't help I had family issues, passing relative, and my own medical issues making it impossible for OTR
That all said finding a job wont be a issue don't lower you bar of standards just yet. My standards were always high which is why my office doesn't drive on a street anymore. Was always gonna be a nothing more then a stepping stone something much better then driving not that there is anything wrong with its both sides my family I have commercial drivers every uncle mother side and father are drivers or former driver some fell in love with it others like me wanted more then shed on wheels.chitaylor Thanks this. -
Be a good student. Keep your eyes and ears open. Don't argue, don't debate. Just listen.
Second, understand that you are replaceable. Even despite what you hear about trucking being short handed, the unemployment numbers continue to grow.
If you really want now to go continue driving and trucking then look at guys that have been doing it for years and ages and copy what they do. If you ain't there yet then fake it until you make it.
Stuff the attitude that you cannot replaced. You aren't there yet with limited experience. Just have fun driving your truck and learn new things for a couple of years.chitaylor Thanks this.
