Really feeling the love from the chicken coop on I-55 in Springfield Illinois, they just gave me 5 hundred and 30 reasons to run more out West!
By the way before you guys kick my ### 4 things
1. My wife already kicked it (badly).
2. I know I’m a moron to be that heavy, Kraft has a lot of heavy freight and tandems all the way back is usually right on the money.
3. Never assume scales are closed (Duh)
4. I’m done rushing to make extremely tight deadlines.
Thanking the Lord I have enough to take care of it and I appreciate this lesson, I need to be professional ALWAYS, I can’t cut corners to save time. I Just wish this lesson didn’t cost me 530 clams. Oh well.....
Happy Drivers appreciation week!!

Im a bit confused by this comment. " Kraft has a lot of heavy freight and tandems all the way back is usually right on the money." The tandems were all the way back and you had that much weight on them? I bet you also picked that load up already loaded and sealed. There is NO way to fix this if the tandems were all the way back. Remember you "chase" the weight when fixing the tandems. Just an educated guess here. I suspect they loaded this trailer and placed a VERY heavy pallet right in that last 6 feet! It's really pathetic shippers don't take more time to not do this!

Just a question to the OP. If I’m reading your comment correctly I am inferring by you’re in a hurry comment, There’s a strong possibility you passed a cat scale. I won’t jump on you for that, besides you’re admitting that you made a mistake! Looks like a 500+ buck mistake. I don’t know what your experience levels are, but when you’ve been trucking for a while especially handling different types of freight you will come to learn when it’s safe to not scale and when you should scale until that time scale every single load! That cat scale ticket is cheap insurance that every company that I ever drove for reimbursed me for! As others have said I’m sorry that this happened to you! However, I hope you learned a lesson and I’m sorry that it was so expensive!
