    Positive:
    1. Well designed. Tracking & Billing integrated app. You can invoice and track your invoice status from it.
    2. Ability to bid.
    3. Transparency as to who the shipper/receiver is, appointment times and commodity.
    4. USA present person - American boy or girl who will talk to you about issues directly. Not some inept, useless, clueless pawns based abroad who will "escalate" issues, which is all they can do.
    5. Firm and good on time payments with QP possibilty.
    6. Relatively good ethics. Deceptive tactics, if op's experience is one of them, are rare in my own experience. They are more or less a result of misunderstanding and poor communication.
Could be also the fault of the very shipper/receiver. Anyway, it can happen with any broker and any broker will naturally take side of their customer vs. their carrier.
    7. You can choose and pick your own favorite rep and deal with them directly.
    8. Deep pockets, if the times are good

    Negative:
    1. Cheap. Very cheap if the times are bad.
    2. Extremely difficult to be awarded and then execute detention pay. Complicated detention billing.
    3. $35 per hour: cheap detention rate.
    4. Annoying calls as early as 7 AM to solicit loads to cover.
    5. Often discouraging and annoying penalty warnings. Arriving late, broken seal, Driver must count the load etc.

I’ve had no problems with them since they’ve been bought out by UPS. Before that they were more problematic and shady

As of today I hate coyote logistics with a passion... let’s just say I could go to prison for saying what I truly think of them.
I picked up a load that I had a 3 hour deadhead to pick up, but coyote scheduled the pickup for noon, with the delivery over 600 miles away at midnight the same day. I’m expected to avoid toll roads which means I’m expected to make a 60 mph average through small towns 25 45 mph zones(and camera enforced), and a snow storm on the way... never mind I already burn 3 hours of my clock getting to the shipper... it ant gonna happen. I get told to give an eta once I pick up, and they will work to reschedule.. ok.
The very next day I take off, a couple hours ahead of that eta and get into the consignee I find out I have no appointment and they wont start receiving until later that night.
No word from anyone and can’t get people to answer the phone. I call coyote and get “oh we never heard back from them”. So now I wait for any kind of answer as I look to possibly spending several days sitting on this load when I’m supposed to get home.

the very first load I pulled for coyote a few years ago I called in to report loading complete and booked out of the shipper. I get a call from those clowns 1/2 hour later asking if I’m loaded yet.

I did one load for them to paid pretty well and after that it was all cheap stuff and multi stops etc etc.

That process to get detention is insane.

Not really a fan at all of coyote.

Landstar is another pos broker. If I do load they them they charge another 7.50 per load for booking load thru them. Such a nonsense b.s. its not like they didnt make enough money from that double brokered load already, they need additional 7.50

What’s the 7.50 for? They always charge me 1.75 for insurance. I just have the agent add that extra in on the rate con.

Make a list of the ones that screw you over. I might give a second chance. But if that won't work out, then it goes on the list DO NOT BOOK LOADS with:
