Independent Operator, need an oil change and don't do my own. Do you all trust Speedco? I usually use a couple different shops that I have a history with, and not sure about if I can trust my livelihood to the folks at Speedco? Need to keep the wheels rolling, and If I can duck into a place like this it would save me $$$, Don't care about the $500.00, thats just what it costs, to not crawl my behind and arthritic hips under my truck.

No.
Speedco just got the last of my money by leaving off my oil cap, and forgetting to put o ring on fuel filter canister by the fuel primer on DD15.
Took the old o ring off, but forgot to replace new one.
It was right at $425.
Next time I’ll pay $515 to a mechanic I trust. -
Rideandrepair Thanks this.

They’ve restaffed.
Bubba, the assistant manager that should’ve been manager, quit because he kept getting passed over.
His”mechanics” all left too.
I stayed and tried, but by then leaving the oil cap off, if it wasn’t on a lanyard it’s been lost, and could’ve got dirt/trash in the engine and cost an engine.
This happened Thursday.
I put in a complaint with loves, they said a district manager would call me back at his convenience..3-4 days.Bean Jr. and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
I've used Speedco before and the quality seems to have gone out the window since Loves bought them. I tried Joe's Truck Lube in Effingham, IL and try to get there for service now. They actually treat you like a customer and not like a moron with a problem.

They are building a second location off I-55 in Troy, Illinois... Across the highway from TA&Speedco...Bean Jr., Midwest Trucker, sealevel and 3 others Thank this. -
When they first opened in late 90s They left a plug out of my rear Drive. It ran at least half empty, for about 500 miles, till I heard it whining. Amazingly they found a plug that fit, sitting in the pit. No kidding, that’s my plug!!! Axle never went bad, I never went back.
Brettj3876, Bean Jr., Tropsnart and 4 others Thank this. -
In all fairness, any Shop depends on proper training. I make sure to watch the work done. If it’s not allowed, I’m going somewhere else.

Speedco is full of idiots. They are expensive and constantly trying to up sell on everything. The morons they employ can't even change a brake pod and get it right. A few months ago I went in for an oil change found a brake pod leaking. Told them go ahead and change it. Time to go , paid my bill hopped in the truck pushed in the knobs eased out on the clutch..... truck won't move the brakes won't release. The idiot that changed the pod had the air lines hooked up backward. Granted it was an easy fix... but how dumb do you have to be to get that wrong. I don't care how much time it saves no more speedco for me.
