Lol, that was a serious question. Finishing up my degree and doing an internship this summer but would like to keep driving as I still need to pay my bills.

We ran off a driver for double dipping , boss wondering why he was always sleeping in the yard on night shift in between dropped trailers.

Look, this is a highly technical thing in regard to the FMCSA HOS rules. It's not like there is DOT cops hiding behind trees waiting to jump you. In all likelihood you can do all the interning you want and then drive and suffer no problems. The thing is though as I stated it is technical.

This is an area where @brian991219 might be of better assistance. It is my understanding that there are some limited circumstances where this is true, but not 100% across the board. In this case, I will defer to @brian991219 .brian991219 Thanks this.

FWIW, you won’t find very many Kentuckians in a California penal colony. That would be my deciding factor. Now, if you were in Kentucky.... Well, that’d be a horse of a different color.
