Apparently you are unaware of how drivers are typically paid for additional BS. The company could just pay 10-15 dollars for fueling if they are going to turn it into a dictated task not done when convenient..

Just like drivers get paid 20-25 dollars an hour for detention, or at my company we get paid 100 dollars for wasting our time loading the trailer instead of picking up a preloaded trailer. Several years ago they only paid us 25-30 bucks to do that and almost everybody quit after having to do a few of them because 25 dollars for 3-6 hours of wasted time is BS. Now getting paid 100 dollars extra to do it and I actually prefer doing it myself for the extra money.

Interesting how getting paid more money for doing additional BS works huh?

It's not the fuel solution for the truck I have issues with. It's the locking us out of any fuel stop to top off the reefer I am concerned with. I am 100% on my fuel compliance since I came back last Oct. But, with the amount of drop/hook loads we do here, I am just concerned that if High Command locks out our fuel cards for all fueling outside our designated fuel solution stops, even for reefer fuel...how many drivers are gonna go thru the hassle of calling in just to fuel the reefer before dropping. I am not saying that's what they are doing when they switch, they haven't said yet... currently we can buy reefer or DEF any time, without asking, at any of the 3 franchise fuel chains...but if they change that it's just gonna cause more problems than it solves. And the message from Deland about this came a day or two after we got a message about some new way of being dispatched starting Monday. I wish they'd leave things alone with this technology...the last Peoplenet update slowed my unit down dramatically. Now, since they got the Drivewyze app data collection working on my unit, my box freezes intermittently, completely locks, completely loses cell service at random or just plain goes even slower than before.

Amen to that. I drive 53 miles one way every day Monday thru Friday. I'm driving a 2017 Ford F-250 4X4 C/C diesel pickup that gets about 18 mpg. But for the compensation and benefits, it's well worth it!

I commuted 900 miles per week just to stay at FXF. It is, indeed, worth it to have a job you enjoy!

So, when it was time to go home, you parked your truck and drove 900 miles, then when it was time to go back on the road you drove 900 miles back. There isn't a job in the world worth that.

Holy #### man! 900 miles a week to work for FedEx?

Is this the truck driver version of Forrest Gump running cross country? :p

I haven’t checked the actual mile or so, but I’m less than 5 minutes from where I park my truck. Ain’t it great to not have to get gas but about once a month, if that?

I wouldn't walk across the street to work for Fud-wrecks...besides, I'm not qualified to work there...I haven't jack-knifed a truck, rear-ended a line of stopped traffic, ran anyone off the road or ignored chain laws then spun out on a hill, blocking both lanes...If I wanted to work there I guess I would have to train with a 10-Roads mail contractor for a while to get the handle on this whole wreckless driver ability.
