I’ll throw my two cents in because I think I work for a really great reefer company. Check out Magnum LTD out of Fargo, ND.
we hire anywhere within our operating areas which includes the Southeast.
Equipment - Late model Peterbilt 579s and Freightliner Cascadias, both Ultralofts. They come with APUs, mini-fridge, 1800 watt inverters. All automatics governed at 64. All tractors and trailers are well maintained.
Pay - starting base pay is based on your experience level. You’d have to talk with recruiting to accurate but I think 6 years experience might be in the .48-.50 cpm range. Our bonuses go up to 9 cpm. They’re easy to hit. I haven’t gone under 8.5 cpm in bonus all year. Accessory be is good, layover, transit layover and breakdown at $180/day. Detention $18 an hr after 2 hrs and it’s paid on your following check. No waiting for the shipper or receiver to pay Magnum. I’m grossing $1628 avg/ week this year. Willing to share paystub for verification.
Lanes - We run South, Southeast, some east coast but never North of PA or further east then Elizabeth NJ. Midwest, and Northwest. No Cali or SW and no meat patch or intro produce places where they have you sit for hours with no detention.
Culture and hometime - They treat us well and like adults. I’m never micromanaged and treated respectfully. Home time policy is liberal. You give 10 days notice and you’ll get your home time. They’ve always gotten me home on time or early. ELD violations are addressed on a driver by driver basis and we get to use off / duty PC without heaving to get permission from bean counter.
I’m constantly looking for something better but can’t seem to find a better situation. HMU if you have any questions.

Does anyone you've recommended this company to, actually works for them? Would like to hear their review on it. I don't mind the 6 weeks out, but produce loads all the time might be a headache, especially if they don't pay detention. Other than that, I do like their trucks and the speed they're governed at.
