At some point in the near future, it will be a DOT Mandate that EVERY truck, whether leased, company owned or run by an Owner Operator will be required to have at minimum a road facing camera, if not a road facing and driver facing camera. It's coming. It won't matter where you go.

The texting and driving issue is the most prevalent reason for all the camera's. The danger is incredibly high, the risk to the safety of other motorists and the tickets and fines are very high as well.
If these trucking companies would stop hiring every half-retarded idiot, then the accidents would stop. Some people just aren't cut out to drive a commercial truck and it needs to be ok to tell them that. To hell with their feelings. Safety should trump the everyone gets a trophy and can drive a big truck for a living nonsense.
There also needs to be training requirements and standards for trainers. Stop letting Swift and CR England drivers with less than a year of experience train students. There needs to be a certification program for trainers. It needs to be rigorous, it needs to be difficult and it needs to weed out the losers who aren't qualifed to train.
They also need to get these lard butts out of trucks who are a stroke or a heart attack away from crossing a median and killing a bunch of innocent people.ctekrat, Gearjammin' Penguin and Sloride71 Thank this. -
ColoradoLinehaul and Speed_Drums Thank this.

I’ve thought about RL just for the fact that they use electric forklifts. I tried to get my boss to let me buy a Toyota jack to save my back, but district manager says no…

You can run but you can’t hide. Top is obviously UPS bottom is OD. OD guys are believing it’s a matter of time same as the Brown guys. Hard to get away from the insurance discounts. Thanks to truck insurance premiums going up it’s forcing companies to make a move. -
See how the safety team likes that.
Maybe they will reconsider that camera -
ColoradoLinehaul and Bob Dobalina Thank this.
