    I’m in NYC, but 130 hours is apparently worth $3000 less in NJ lol

    FFE (Frozen Food Express) has a terminal in Burlington, NJ and their CDL school is in Burns Harbor, Indiana.
    School, meals, lodging, transportation is free.
    Students right out of their school start at $.50 cpm plus accessorial pays.
    @Jenn72 drives for FFE.

    I might have missed the point of your original question, but if drug testing is a concern bail on trucking now. You will be drug tested many times before you are officially hired by any company. I went through 3 drug tests in my first 90 days. I didn't fail any or even have a "questionable" result. Between school, the company that brought me on, and officially starting the job, I had 3. Also, don't shortcut the training. Trucking is INSANE and not everyone finds it easy. The more classroom, schooling, training you can get, the safer you and EVERYONE else around you will be!!.

    160 hrs.....40 hrs per week for 4 weeks. First 2 weeks is classroom (80 hrs) next 2 weeks is behind the wheel. First week behind the wheel is in the yard doing basic stuff, backing, pretrip, sharing the truck with 3 other students. The 4th week is on the road sharing with 3 other students, so each student gets 2 hrs per day behind the wheel for 1 week. Then you test at the DMV. So you will have basically 10 hrs behind the wheel plus yard manuevers when you test at DMV.

    Otoh, there is such a thing as keeping the training wheels on too long.
