Is there anyone who can give me an honest review of yrc freight ? I’m considering going through their driver academy. I just want more insight on the company. All answers are helpful

Here is the link to a thread that goes into a very good description of the complete YRC training.

Yellow. you mean Yellow Freight
ColoradoLinehaul and BennysPennys Thank this. -
Everything is seniority based from start times, runs and truck. Are you going to be local or linehaul? The pay is lower than some other companies but the insurance is all paid for by the company and is very good. I'm local and overall I like it. If you do your job they pretty much leave you alone. If problems do come up the union will guide you through them.

Avoid it like the pest. I work/worked for two out of three of their subsidiaries (Reddaway/Holland) and can tell you that this company is the boat anchor that is sinking all their regionals.
Garbage equipment and garbage freight.
Come the 22nd (or 24th) we will all be Yellow and then everyone gets to embrace the YRC suck even more with their garbage freight.Western flyer and 1catfish Thank this. -
YRC is weird in my neck of the woods.
they have one brand new 2021 Volvo, and than they have another driver driving a Volvo that’s probably 25 years old. I know my company is cheap with their equipment, but I’d be embarrassed to have some of my drivers in equipment they use at times.
This Volvo is so old I have no clue what year it is because they haven’t made that style of bumper in decades.
they Also pay $10 less than most LTL carriers in my area.Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this. -
We make about $7-$12 less than most LTL companies because our health care plan is valued at $14 hour. -
Yeah, I was talking to a YRC driver and it seems to be about the same in terms of total compensation.
I would look in YRC if you, or your spouses/kids had really bad health.
cadillac health insurance triumphs over extra money if you kid has like say fibromyalgia.road_runner Thanks this.
