Lgt transport tanker company operations on the west coast

    Just wondering if anyone knows about this company I was thinking about looking into them do they have auto trucks or manuals and are they really a good company. Seems like with the limited information I can find on them they haul special type of chemical or gas. Just wondering how much different that would be from regular hazmat chemicals

    I hauled a chemical tanker for 3 years

    It appears that LGT Transport (I pronounce it, "legit") is a 3rd party contractor (as opposed to a direct supplier/producer) transport company of cryogenic products.

    Easy examples of products they carry would be probably liquid CO2, liquid nitrogen, or liquid oxygen.

    They pick up work when and where the direct suppliers (like Praxair, Linde, and Airgas) don't have enough drivers.

    It's probably not a bad place to get into cryo, if you lack the experience that some of the direct producers (like Praxair/Linde) require.

    However, apparently their pay is pretty lackluster--see the following forum thread, and read the first several posts--but especially post #9:

    I think most of their truck fleet are Peterbuilts, but I'm not sure on that.

    Don't have a clue what their mix is of autos vs manuals.

    I see them advertising for drivers all the time in my area.

    The bottom line: they are ONE WAY to get into the world of cryo transport.

    If you have 3 years of chemical tanker experience--you are FAR BETTER OFF (for pay, and benefits) applying directly with one of the cryo supplier/producers (like Linde/Praxair, Messer, Airgas, etc).

    I know they haul propane down here in cali. Along with cryo work. They used to require 3 weeks out minimum. Not sure if that’s still the case.

    The guys who work out of our plant up north are from OH and TX and are out for a couple months usually. If they're contracted to one of the bigger companies they stay till the work is done.

    I saw on there website that they allow driver's to bring there dog. Which is interesting because I didn't think doing tanker work you would not be able to cause of the places you would be going to would not allow pets on there property.
