I can't watch the video at work, but sometimes money isn't the reason someone stays at a company. I'd gladly make less than a competitor offers if I am treated right and respected by my current employer. Money isn't everything at the end of the day.
-
I disagree.
Money is the ONLY reason I continue to work as a driver.
I don't give a RIP about respect from an employer.
That ship sailed long ago.
Treated right..what is that?
You'll reap what you sow imho.
I think people stay at a company that doesn't pay because they are comfortable there.
Besides there are only so many places that pay well above average.
For me money IS everything at the end of the day.James j, gentleroger, TruckDriver87 and 11 others Thank this. -
Of course lower paying companies often treat their employees well. If they can get somebody to do the same job for less and all it cost them is a little politeness that's a bargain.
Oddly enough higher paying jobs treat employees with respect as well. But personally I'd rather have respect and a decent bank account.
The money goes somewhere. Why wouldn't I want it coming to my family to compensate them for my efforts.TruckDriver87, Need4Speed, JoeyJunk and 5 others Thank this. -
I don’t worry about material things anymore.
It will be gone in the …….ncmickey, 48Packard and bryan21384 Thank this. -
I don't worry about the afterlife either.
But until I dirt nap I want my family comfortable.TruckDriver87, lual, JoeyJunk and 5 others Thank this. -
I mean.....he isn't making bad money. There are far worse paying companies out there. Plus we don't know how often he goes home. Nor do we know how experienced he was when got with them. Its only in the last couple of years companies have bumped cpm pay significantly. With a typical OTR company, you ain't going to see big money if you ain't staying out at least 3 weeks to a month minimum at a time. He's making about average after all the deductions.

I think y'all are misunderstanding me. I don't mean being underpaid, I mean making a good wage, but when someone comes along with marginally better wage offering. What does it entail? Will a nice, cushy, 100% no-touch and D/H with weekly home time job be worth losing over a 5% pay increase, yet suddenly its all live load and only home every 2-3 weeks?
Usually more pay means there is a catch.Speed_Drums, bzinger, Dennixx and 1 other person Thank this. -
I figure they won’t be my problem anymore, they don’t hold loyalties either, will be remarried and you’ll be just a memory within 3-5 years usually, in these days and times.
