Oh yeah it’s not so much the speed of the truck it’s how driver manages their time throughout the day for the most part… Some folks out here just can’t understand that…

    #### lucky he wasn't in the hospital, or dead. When you're on camera, it's better to fess up than cover up. I got a Cali speeding call while on home time...and I accepted the fact that they caught me...the guy who calls you has 4+ mil safe miles, so he obviously knows how to do it right.

I have my truck governed at 80 but I guarantee you if I were ever to get ticketed for that or involved in an accident there would be hell to pay at Morehouse.

Those are the types of drivers that warrant us getting all the nanny stuff in the truck. How unfortunate that he would do that.

That's correct. Never been late, even when I've had slower trucks.

No offense taken. I've driven, 63, 65, 70, and now 75-77 mph trucks. Never been late with any of them.

When I had slower trucks. I would take a mental note of ALL the trucks that passed me, and look up the company etc. I was sitting there wishing I was driving one of those faster trucks.

Last year, got on the road, had a choice of 2 companies. Went with the one with a 75mph truck (77mph true speed, maybe due to tires). 2018 cascadia. 0 nannys, no adaptive cruise control.. Nothing. It was the perfect mix of newer truck with oldschool character.

I tell ya, I had the best year of my 8 years of driving. It was ALL I imagined and more. Super entertaining, you had non stop action. The day was not dull or boring. I loved passing truck after truck, felt like I was going places.

I run I80 coast to coast, my best day, that I was able to somewhat replicate was 800miles in 11 hours. It was awesome! I loved reaching that personal goal of seeing what was the max legal mileage I could squueze out of that truck. 700 to 720 was my previous record on a 65.

Unfortunately the new truck has the nannys and adaptive cruise, so it is not as fun, as I am not in full control.

If I could replicate that at dynamic I would not hesitate to go there. I used to wish I was driving a long nose, when I used to get passed by them all day long while doing 65. Now I pass them in my cascadia lol. I do reefer LTL in the north east, go to really tight places, so a 389 would not work.

So I would love to get that feeling of freedom and enjoyment of the road, that my 2018 truck gave me. Doing it at dynamic would be a cherry on top, because of that sweet classic. I'd just wish it did 78 (so you don't get stuck behind someone at 75) doing 77 was beautiful. Only once or twice did I have that issue now at 75 is more common.

Sorry for the rant. I love this profession, although my days might be numbered. The way I like to run is seen as "baaad" and it'll go away soon enough. I have even considered hauling cattle but that is another ball game.

I just want to have fun doing my job.

Pic to show proof. I know some people like to exagerate
