Take every reply in this thread with a grain of salt. They’re a massive company, so you’re likely to see just as many replies like these for every amazing review. You’ll never know until you’ve tried it yourself. Personally I’ve considered the Crete side of things a couple times. Things said here are things to keep in mind but ultimately it’s my decision.
Shaffer good or bad?

I work for a massive company now and that’s exactly what I don’t want. I’m despising how the left hand hand does not know what the right hand is doing and how so many people refuse to do their job.

You’ll literally see that from the Mega’s down to the mom and pop companies. It’s all just a matter of what management team you can put up with.

Shaffer for me was a great experience. Pay was good but the delays was a true statement from above. Terminals are nice. They expect you to be a company rep everywhere. DM relationship is important i found out for myself. Good luck!

Shaffer is the reefer side. Crete is the dry van side. Hunt is the flatbed side.
I can't comment definitively on the Shaffer OTR side right now, but that's where I came from before I got on a dedicated account and bought my truck. As long as I was polite but aggressive in trying to keep moving, Shaffer always had miles for me. You can't get around live load and unload times, but Shaffer has a long history of decent wages and solid miles for drivers that want to make money.catdog45 Thanks this. -

YES , belongings. Clothes, bottled water, canned food, books, maps, paperwork, etc. Written up by the terminal Mngr in KC ! Ridiculous ! They didn’t want to work on my trk, I think. I quit at the end of 2017. 5 trks were turned in on the same day in their little terminal in Deland, FL . In 1 day ! What does that tell u ?? -
BAD, many delays, not enough $$, ur just a trk #
