I got canned from jack Cooper the first of last month, which in a lot of ways was a blessing and probably the way I was gonna go with them eventually anyways.
Got back to my folks place in Cleveland the third- had a job on the fourth. Failed the physical (drug interaction put my blood pressure wayyyyy into the red and concentra is being massive pricks about retesting) so I had to walk away from that one. Got a different job lined up with Pi&I who would take me with my existing physical, and I honestly should have my head checked, they were such #### I left on day two of orientation.
Sitting in orientation now with someone else praying to god nothing weird happens with these guys.
And in between all of this stress-filled-########, it's still not as bad as owning a truck OR having to deal with a union company. Not #### talking unions, I liked mine, but the corporate management gets so weird dealing with union drivers. Go straight to intent to discharge instead of just coaching a simple issue. Fine. #### it. Keep your job lol.
Anyways, I feel the struggle. 2,200 drivers out of a job with yellow dying, isn't it?

Starting at Core-Mark next week so a little different than freight but that’s okay. I’m kinda sour on freight right now after Yellow, didn’t really wanna go to another freight carrier tbh. Fortunately in my neck of the woods our unemployment is on the low side, roughly 2 percent.
It’s day time hours so I can still have the work/family balance of life. Hey @road_runner I’m pulling for you!bzinger, Albertaflatbed, Professor No-Name and 6 others Thank this. -
That could be a reasonable option. I worked for Crete Carrier for 3 months while I was applying to LTLs. Estes clearly didn't want me back, and it took about 2 months for Old Dominion to give me an orientation date from the day I applied.
To be fair, I also had some confusion with a suspended driving charge that was later dropped in court. Had I not provided documentation to OD in the 11th hour they were gonna disqualify me for employment.bzinger, Albertaflatbed, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this. -
To my total surprise Yellow paid my last invoice today.

Top management all received big bonuses.Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this.

I’m curious if Joe Biden will bail Yellow out. Big government bailed out the airliner industry, but Jerome Powell isn’t giving out free money anymore it’ll be super expensive for tax payers.
Albertaflatbed Thanks this. -
He started the spending spree at Yellow ...Professor No-Name and Albertaflatbed Thank this.
