Ended up going to Council Bluffs instead. They were the ones that replaced it so I assumed that breakdown would want me to go back there.

If they have an outside repair vendor do the replacement, probably want them to make it right for free instead of paying another vendor to do it and then try to get some of the labor charge refunded from the 1st shop.

It was indeed a fairly quick fix. I need to take the company car for a couple errands while I’m here but after that, I’ll be heading up to the Twin Cities area unless I’m told differently.

    rokue and bzinger Thank this.

DFW is the main reason I went OTR. When I first started here in 2020, I was regional, and could still swing 3000+ miles in a week about 3/4 of the time, but I got FED UP with Dallas. Last time I was down there, I was headed North on US75 around McKinney on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I was idling in 1st gear, because there were 6 or 7 crashes spread out along 4 miles of the Northbound side. Then I see a car come sliding from the express lanes, on its roof, and tailfirst into the wall on the outside shoulder. I would rather drive in LA than Dallas. They drive like their hair is on fire half the time, but manage to avoid actually crashing more successfully than what I have seen in Dallas.

I think the proportion of Live Appointments vs Drop/Hook is pretty much the same between regional and OTR.

I’ll give OTR a shot. I’ve done it before . It’s fun trying to remember all my secret spots I use to go to that had good food\ parking and Its not forced dispatch so I’m not afraid to say no to a 40,000lbs load going from Nebraska to Washington and getting 5 mpg in the mountains.
California sucks I’ll take Midwest states all day! No chaining up either.

I recently switched from otr to midwest regional and there's lots of work available and lots of drop and hook.
