I was following a thread and even posted a comment about my thoughts when suddenly the original poster along with the thread disappeared into the ether, when a user voluntarily deletes their account does it take their posts with them? Or is this a result of a ban? I just wondered how curiosity because I've never seen a thread just disappear like that before

This was a result of a ban. Basically underhanded advertising.

Okay thank you for the reply. And now I know to think "Oh, the person got banned" instead of "huh, am I going nuts?" :D

We forum users can report posts like spam if we think it violates TOU. Then the moderators will make the decision to delete it. I’ve reported quite a few over the years and they have all disappeared quickly.
To report a post, reply etc just hit the 3 horizontal bars at the lower left and go from there. It’s painless but probably want to read up on what violates the tou first.

Oh I usually don't because I struggle with in person social situations. So I feel that it would be pretty easy to end up reporting something only to realize that I misinterpreted the post or I'm just being an idiot, ect. It's the reason why I don't run a forum of my own or try being a moderator. shoot, it never even occurred to me that the thread that got deleted might have even been an advertisement.

    The_vett, d o g and Concorde Thank this.

Becoming a moderator on the forum is probably the equivalent of an individual trying to become the CEO of a company or the president of the U.S.A., extraordinarily difficult without the right credentials and / or experience.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.

Having a been a game admin and forums admin its not hard just tedious. That said please don't compare being hated by half the country if not more to being the president, CEO of a company aint too hard just if you fail your company will suffer. I have been all those those positions once except one and I have no desire to be hated by half the country ever so thats one position I will never try for we all need to know our limits. Lastly, you can be CEO of a company and still not be rich only aged a bit from all the stress was a Christian organization stores was fun to see all the things people give as donations and meeting all the nice people

It can be tough depending on the subject to get the wording right or even people reading can be in a bad way and take something wrong. However here most are straight forward and especially if the poster is known to be a good person. Like many jokes go unsaid by me because I don't want to be misunderstood. Text can be a hard way to get a joke across, still some of you are just masters LOL

Trolls are everywhere, but they don't last long here. The mods are terrific and so are the members.
I have seen very few non well meaning new posters, (trolls) who come here and its easy to see they are up to no good. I just love how they are not tolerated. Room Reckers ( or site, or thread) get the boot when they think they are going to make problems.
I have been on the net decades already , and TTR , the mods and the members, make this the best run site Iv'e ever been to. I am sure nobody has missed some of those really awful places,(complete different sites) and know what I am talking about. Some stay on the ragged edge, but everyone is too smart for them.
If they gave awards for best sites, TheTruckers Report I feel would win. I have been too wordy.....my batt is going ....This area has been without power for sometime...Not sure this will send. BE SAFE OUT THERE. THANK YOU
