We just got one of our hay trucks back from paint. before paint, the number on the truck was 11 from when my uncle bought it, we were talking about putting “class of 98” (98 Pete) on it but I thought it was bad luck to change a truck number?

just curious because if it wasn’t for my bad luck I would have none so If it is I’m keeping myself out of it from now on.

When I went from a lease op to full blown own authority I kept the truck number that was issued by the company, it was an even number, which I liked , and the only number known to the truck after I bought it. Now 9 years later and still running that number. I think you'd be fine naming her Class of 98.

mine are strange. International is 141, that’s what it was when I bought it. Kept it, just didn’t want to pull number and change them. KW is 310, same thing, didn’t wanna change, extra work with heat gun.
Mack was 10013 when I bought it,, they pulled signs and numbers. So I put it 309, Freightliner was 311 and Pete was 312.

Understand fully. I lean slightly superstitious, like - not walking under ladders.

Id put the ‘Class of ‘98’ on the hood - and stick with 11 as the truck number, if it had no bad ju-ju associated with the number.

The last two trucks I’ve had to change numbers mid stream when I’ve changed what I was doing. I haven’t been hit by lightning.

    Yet.

Just go ahead and change it. It’s the new chapter, deserves to be distinguished.

I kept the number on my first truck, changed on the second, didn’t know about the bad luck thing tbh. Glad I changed the number on the second one before I read this, I would be wondering .
