I was really answering about the hometime in regards to your upcoming procedure. I mean...I'd hate for you to get started, and then a company messes you up from getting that done.

I did. I think you're looking for validation or affirmation for an already predetermined thought. They say one only seeks advice when they already have an answer.tscottme, Numb, broke down plumber and 1 other person Thank this.

Don’t tell anyone else you plan to retire in 4 years. Tell them you’re healthy as an ox, want to drive 12000 miles a month and will be driving until you die, in a truck.
Also, if you’ve never driven a truck professionally, you’d be an absolute fool not to drive someone's else’s truck on their dime to get started.
Just because you’re 51 doesn’t mean you know how to drive a truck. Just because you’re a business owner doesn’t mean you can successfully run multiple businesses at once, while living in a truck.
just because you think you can live in a truck for years on end, does not mean you will be able to hack it. Gym bye, grocery maybe, friends family adios. No parking yes, angry drivers yes, late shippers and receivers constantly yes.
once you go 1099 you’re now a full time driver and business owner. Plus everyone hates truck drivers and everyone has their hands out. -
This dude is a trip .He has veteran truckers , veteran truck owners trying to steer him away from a probable and likely bad decision.
tscottme, Speedy356, Suspect Zero and 4 others Thank this. -
I hope they don’t think that about me on another forum where I’m seeking computer help with my laptop. I’m the village idiot when it comes to that little rascal!Sirscrapntruckalot and broke down plumber Thank this.

OK You have to work under a contract, you will have the option to refuse work, and you have the option to go home or move the truck.
The owner can't tell you how to drive the truck, how to secure the load or any crap like that.
The contract has to be very detailed like who pays for what, when you get paid and so on.
Now you being in business, may never had to deal with this but it is a different world.
Most 1099 companies do NOT do it right, they screw it up and screw with the driver.
These are the biggest problem in the industry, and they are all over.Long FLD, Suspect Zero, Sirscrapntruckalot and 4 others Thank this. -
With your bad attitude and lack of knowledge of the trucking industry and refusal to take advice I’ll lay odds you don’t make it through your first 6 months. Who are you training through?Suspect Zero, Sirscrapntruckalot and tscottme Thank this.
